About the role…

We are now looking for a talented Clinical Research Lead to join our team on 12 month fixed term contract. As the Clinical Research Lead, you will provide the clinical knowledge and expertise required to enable MRN to deliver its services to clinical trial participants safely, effectively and consistently. This role provides support to the healthcare professionals (HCP) and activities related to recruitment, onboarding, training and Home Trial Support visit delivery that enables MRN to deliver its services globally. This will include using clinical skills, including supervision skills which will involve assessing HCP suitability, providing HCP training, clinical support of HCPs during home trial visits and post-delivery.

The Clinical Research Lead will be responsible for.

  • To work alongside the Project Manager ensuring the effective delivery of the MRN service, responsible for overseeing all clinical aspects of the service at portfolio level.
  • Responsibility for providing input into the Site Professional Support service from a clinical perspective, where the service requires it.
  • To take responsibility for all clinical aspects of home trial project set-up.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day delivery of the service by healthcare professionals (HCP), such as nurses.
  • To assess the feasibility of conducting the home trial support service in a community setting from opportunity through to delivery of the service.
  • Be responsible for ensuring that the service is continually clinically risk assessed at key points from set-up through to delivery and completion, with resultant actions being implemented and followed through.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the HCPs, such as nurses, are appropriately qualified, skilled, trained, equipped and ready to conduct home trial support visits.
  • Key point of contact for HCPs and their immediate supervisors, where these are in place.
  • Undertake observational home visits where possible.
  • Post-visit delivery responsibilities for overall visit conduct assessments, such as home trial support visit reviews, checking documentation, raising queries, and HCP competence to undertake clinical duties.
  • Ensures all MRN trial-related activities are conducted in conformance with ICH/ GCP guidelines, national legislation, and appropriate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) within the remit of the Clinical Services department.
  • Takes responsibility for customer interactions that require clinical expertise, supporting and enhancing customer relationships.

Skills, Experience, and Qualifications…


  • Degree level qualification in a nursing discipline, which is recognised in the country of residence.
  • Proven track record of clinical care delivery in a nursing discipline.
  • Clinical research experience, which can cover a variety of roles (e.g., research nursing, operational and/or project management).
  • ICH Good Clinical Practice/GxP knowledge


  • Clinical care supervision and oversight
  • Able to make clinical decisions, determine and implement effective action plans
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills and ability to build positive and productive relationships
  • Facilitation and problem solving
  • Highly organised

Where: The role can be office, hybrid, or remote based depending on your location. Our offices in the UK are in Crownhill, Milton Keynes.

Type: This is a full time, 12-month fixed term contract
