MRN Achieves ISO27001:2022 Recertification – Demonstrating Continued Dedication To Information Security & Compliance

Milton Keynes (27 January 2025) – Today, UK based Medical Research Network (MRN), the innovative market-leader of international community-based clinical trial delivery, announces their ISO27001:2022 recertification and qualification for the new ISO27001:2022 version of the standard. This recertification in the global gold standard for digital and physical information security management demonstrates MRN’s continued commitment to its staff, clients, and patients to protect them and their information.

Phill Winters, Executive Director of Information Technology at MRN said: “The ISO27001:2022 certification is not just about how we handle IT, but all information security measures that we have in place – both physical and digital. This includes things such as demonstrating the security of our offices, how secure our paper-based and digital systems are, and what our risk processes look like. It is an extensive audit, but one we believe is critical to undertake to ensure we have a clear, robust framework for managing information. Maintaining our ISO27001:2022 certification is a testament to our dedication to protect the information of our staff, clients, sites, and patients.”

Alex Wylie, General Manager, MRN Technologies further added: “At MRN maintaining the highest standard of information security is not about ticking a box, it’s about keeping our colleagues, clients, sites and patients at the forefront of everything we do.”

ISO27001 / ISO27001:2022 certification demonstrates that a company has a compliant and comprehensive Information Security Management System (ISMS) in place that adheres to best practices and principles set out in this international standard.

MRN first achieved ISO27001 certification in 2023 and undergoes auditing annually, and recertification every three years. MRN and its employees are also compliant in:

  • ISO 9001:2015
  • International Council for Harmonization Good Clinical Practice (ICH GCP)
  • General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)
  • UK GDPR

This announcement furthers MRN’s mission to provide the gold standard platform of clinical trial services designed to work together in synergy, bringing trials closer to patients, while making trials faster, more efficient, more inclusive, and more accessible for all patients and all research sites around the world.
