Milton Keynes (6 January 2026) – Today, UK based Medical Research Network (MRN), the innovative market-leader of international community-based clinical trial delivery, is pleased to announce the appointment of Alex Guite as Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately.
“Alex comes to us from World Courier and brings a wealth of operational, commercial knowledge and leadership experience to MRN,” stated Dr. Graham Wylie, Executive Chairman of the MRN Board. “However, he is no stranger to MRN and has served as a Non-Executive Board Member since 2021. We are delighted that he is taking the step from Non-Executive Board Member to fulfill the role of CEO. MRN has spent the last 20 years on a mission to maximize recruitment and retention in trials using techniques that move the trial in the patient’s home and community, reducing the impact of trial participation on patient’s lives. We have reached a scale where we need the experience of running and managing large organizations which Alex brings from World Courier (Cencora), to power our next stage of growth and drive MRN’s mission forward – enabling us to partner with industry leaders to bring much needed therapies and medicines to more patients, faster.”
Alex Guite brings 15 years of experience in healthcare and pharmaceutical services and a proven record of growing and transforming complex international businesses. He has held progressively more senior roles at World Courier, a leading specialty logistics provider to the pharmaceutical sector, where most recently he served as Senior Vice-President & General Manager. Prior to this, he worked at Oliver Wyman, an international management consulting firm, where he focused on healthcare systems. He holds a PhD in Physics from Imperial College London.
“I am honored to be joining the exceptional team at the MRN,” said Alex Guite. “It is a business I have respected for many years for the crucial work it does to broaden patient participation in clinical trials. I am looking forward to partnering with our customers and clinical trial sites to support them in growing their reach and in turn accelerating the development of innovative medicines.”
In addition to Mr. Guite’s appointment to CEO, Alex Wylie has been promoted from General Manager, MRN Technologies to Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Alex Wylie has been with MRN for 13 years, starting in our core roles of running and delivering visits then developing to managerial positions overseeing the strategic change infrastructure for the organization, as well as driving significant advances in data, analytics, system integration, and process optimization across the business. Alex joined the MRN Board as a full director 3 years ago, bringing a focus on technology and has been a critical member of the team driving rigorous management and thoughtful analysis based on his deep understanding of the business.
“Alex’s transition to CTO is a natural progression of the leadership he already provides in shaping our digital, analytical and innovation agenda, and reflects both his deep institutional knowledge, a broad experience of change management and continuous improvement and his outstanding technical and commercial contribution to MRN’s growth,” stated Dr. Wylie.
