MRN is Xconomy’s 2020 recipient of the Patients First Award

The 2020 National Xconomy Awards honors the top individuals, companies, and organizations that make the country’s life sciences ecosystem the most vibrant and innovative in the world.

MRN is proud to receive this award, recognizing our commitment to patients by building a unique model to successfully deliver trial visits in the patient’s own home, basing their care in the community rather than channeling everything through research sites. This hugely reduces the impact of the trial on the patient’s life making the trial more accessible and easier to participate. The approach has led to a 60 percent increase in recruitment rates in sites using the service and has achieved a 95 percent retention rate, saving trials from total failure and speeding up already well recruiting efforts.

As patients have become more empowered in drug development and healthcare, advocating for more R&D, more affordable drugs, and better access to both medicines and personal health data, the industry is responding. MRN have been and continue to be perfectly positioned to advocate alongside our patient partners to ensure their voices are heard. This award recognizes those who have gone above and beyond to prioritize the needs of patients.

Medical Research Network is now supporting the use of big data analytical tools for recruitment planning, protocol design and site selection, working with partners on telemedicine offerings and continually reviewing how we, as an industry, can engage with patients and make their participation in clinical trials, the lifeblood of our industry, as burden-free as possible.
